Gerrit has spent the past 3 ½ years working for Steelcase, Inc. in the HR department. His role has focused on recruiting, career development, and employee relations support. He has worked with a variety of client groups in this role ranging from information technology and finance to marketing and operations.

He also held a recruiting internship role with Huntington Bank during his time in college. He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a degree in business administration.
