Deanna Demory serves as the Director of Community Investment for Heart of West Michigan United Way in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Her responsibilities include directing United Way’s grant allocation process to Kent County’s health and human service agencies that total $6.5 million annually. Ms. Demory’s role at United Way enables her to participate on a variety of coalitions and collaborative committees dedicated to community health and human service issues.

Her past experience also includes economic and community development responsibilities with the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce with special focus on neighborhood business development. 

She received her bachelor’s degree from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD, and has lived in West Michigan for more than 20 years. Professional interests include community re-entry initiatives for the incarcerated, nutritional healing, and “Smart Growth” sustainable patterns of community.
